Lighting Technician Jobs in Atlanta, GA

A Lighting Technician in the broadcasting industry is responsible for setting up and managing lighting equipment to create the appropriate look and feel for television or film productions. This involves designing lighting set-ups, operating lighting equipment during productions, troubleshooting technical issues, and adjusting settings to achieve the desired effects. They work closely with directors, producers, and other technical professionals to ensure that lighting enhances the mood and aesthetic of the broadcast. It is vital for these professionals to have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of color theory and photography, and the technical skills necessary to operate a variety of lighting equipment.

Prior to becoming a Lighting Technician, individuals often gain experience in roles such as Production Assistant or Grip, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the workings of a production set.
