Job Summary
Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations supervising non-exempt staff to ensure production schedules are met in a safe and efficient production environment. '
Schedule is Thursday / Friday through Sunday 6pm to 6am.
Supervision Received
Works without regular supervision. '
Supervision Exercised:
Supervises the work and safety of non-exempt staff, responsible for safety, onboarding, terminating, performance appraisals, and merit reviews.
Discretion:
Make decisions based on business objectives, policies, and procedures. Objectives defined by upper management. Latitude is given to make decisions to achieve defined goals.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing and promoting respective shift's safety programs and conducting daily safety meetings.
Plan, direct and control production activities and staff to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, regulatory, and on-time delivery requirements.
Promptly maintain accurate staff attendance and disciplinary records.
Work with Human Resources to perform such functions as recruitment, performance, development, promotion, and discipline of employees.
Assign objectives and conduct performance appraisals of direct reports.
Maintain strict compliance with quality, ISO and production procedures and directives.
Communicate and collaborate consistently between other shifts and department leaders.
Manage materials, product flows, and inventory through proficient use of accounting software for respective shifts.
Maintain computerized inventory records and provide accurate information as requested by the manager.
Responsible for submitting maintenance tickets to ensure production tools and equipment can facilitate production schedule.
Assist in development and management of production procedures and processes.
Report promptly any significant concerns and issues that could be unsafe and/or affect the daily production process.
Assist or lead quality and safety investigations to support corrective actions and/or failure analysis.
Communicate and execute Engineering Change Notices and instructions to investigate, improve, and develop production, quality, and R&D processes and/or projects.
Communicate business correspondence to direct reports when requested and outlined by upper management.
Execute all tasks and objectives assigned by the Operations or Business Unit Manager relevant to the area of responsibility by the requested deadline.
Member of the Emergency Response Team and attends the annual Hazwoper Training.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
2+ years of recent or comparable Lead experience in a production environment.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exhibits excellent leadership qualities and ability to lead a team or be a team member in a positive manner.
Proven supervisory experience and skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with MS Office applications. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
Working knowledge of regulatory safety standards and excellent safety record.
General knowledge of handling hazardous materials.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Willingness and ability to monitor/respond to critical issues/requests during off hours.
Work Conditions:
Working and supervising within manufacturing, cleanroom, warehouse, and office environments.
Flexible work schedule and availability.
At times, available during non-working hours.
Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) outlined in the program.
Hazardous chemical handling.
Operation of various manufacturing machinery and powered industrial trucks.
Computer use.
Various analytical equipment and tools.
Compensation Information:
$65,000 -80,000
