Overview
The Associate Director - Walmart is responsible for driving growth and expanding the company's presence on Walmart.com and Sam's Club. This senior-level role involves developing and executing sales strategies for both eCommerce and retail channels, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and overseeing distribution channels. The AD will also develop digital marketing and merchandising strategies for Walmart websites to increase POS and market share, while analyzing ROI for all spending related to Walmart Connect.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a unified sales strategy for Walmart.com and Sam's Club that aligns with company goals, market trends, and growth opportunities.
Collaborate with senior management to set long-term objectives and strategies for both eCommerce and retail channels.
Account Management and Relationship Building:
Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders at Walmart.com, Sam's Club, and their respective teams, including Vice President, Merchandising Directors, Category Managers, Associate Buyers, and eCommerce leads.
Represent the company in negotiations to secure favorable terms, promotions, and product placement.
Address and resolve issues related to product listings, fulfillment, pricing, and customer satisfaction across both platforms.
Sales Strategy and Performance:
Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to increase visibility and drive growth on Walmart.com and Sam's Club.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor landscapes to identify new opportunities and refine strategies for maximum performance.
Monitor performance metrics to ensure alignment with financial targets and business objectives.
Product Listing and Optimization:
Oversee product listings and optimization efforts on Walmart.com and in Sam's Club stores to ensure competitiveness, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely updates to product information, pricing, and inventory across both platforms.
Market Insights and Innovation:
Stay informed on industry trends, consumer behavior, and platform requirements, making data-driven adjustments to strategies.
Implement new tools, technologies, and strategies to optimize sales performance and operational efficiency across both channels.
Walmart Connect Media Group Collaboration:
Partner with Walmart Connect to leverage advertising solutions for brand visibility and sales on Walmart.com.
Collaborate with our agency on media campaigns using Walmart Connect's products (Sponsored Products, Display Ads, Search Ads) to drive sales.
Monitor media campaigns to ensure maximum ROI and alignment with sales strategies.
Reporting and Communication:
Track key performance metrics and growth opportunities for Walmart.com and Sam's Club.
Maintain effective communication with Walmart.com, Sam's Club, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of strategies and resolution of any issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in sales, including 3 years managing large retail accounts (experience with Walmart.com and/or Sam's Club preferred).
- Proven success in managing complex accounts and driving revenue growth in both eCommerce and retail environments.
- Strong understanding of Walmart.com's eCommerce platform and Sam's Club's retail operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and eCommerce management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Walmart's Vendor Portal and systems.
- Proven track record in executing successful digital marketing strategies.
- Experience working with Walmart Connect or similar digital media and advertising platforms.
